New tasting room born from deep vintner roots

They have been making the wine at Per Bacco Cellars in San Luis Obispo, and they have been sharing a tasting room for two years with Edna Valley's Saucelito Canyon Vineyard.

They also bought 130 acres on Orcutt Road in Edna Valley, where they plan to build their own winery and tasting room, but the progress has been slow.

"It's going forward," Ortman says, "like the world's slowest train."

"We both grew out of the Saucelito space," Lisa Ortman explains, "and since Orcutt Road wasn't happening, we thought we better find a new space."

Even though the new tasting room is small — only 700 square feet — it's enough room to showcase all their wines.

The new location, just a block and a half from Paso Robles Park, is ideal.

A spot for fine wines

WINE Knot opened its doors with a cosy and intimate soft launch that saw a brief introduction of their wine cellar to friends and business partners of the outlet.

The new outlet is a picture of wooden touches with a warm ambience that is very similar to the oak and wooded elements of wines, making it a welcoming place for all patrons.

The establishment currently carries wine selections from the conventional wine producing countries including Australia, Chile, France, Spain, New Zealand as well as South Africa.

The soft launch was organised together with wine distributor Nam Lee Chong that prepared four different wines for the tasting session.
